Last year, Hwaseong Fire Station recorded a total of 70,735 dispatches, including 6,557 fire dispatches, 22,375 rescue dispatches, and 41,803 emergency rescue dispatches, making it one of the busiest fire stations in the country.
Despite such a busy schedule, the meal cost for firefighters at Hwaseong Fire Station is only 4,000 won per meal, and the menu was at the level of regular meals, including Jajangmyeon sauce, mixed grain rice, water rice cake fish cake soup, consomizing chicken gas, radish greens, and radish radish kimchi.
Baek Jong-won saw this and expressed his regret, saying, "I feel sorry, but what makes me sad is that when we go to some places, the menu is good, but there are also places where we have to prepare new food, but the menu here is really a regular school lunch menu."
“That general meal is actually a general meal for people who can eat breakfast and dinner at home. It is unfortunate that we need to subsidize this for people who work hard like here, but it is unfortunate,” he said, pointing out that the firefighters’ poor meal situation called for improvement.
