Eiko was one of the Korean residents in Japan who left Japan on the North Korea Song Ship.
Upon returning, Eiko filed a lawsuit against the North Korean government in Japan to inform the world of the existence of Koreans living in Japan who were violated.
It was a historic ruling that recognized the North Korean government's responsibility for the damage caused by the repatriation project, and this opened the way for full-scale compensation claims against the North Korean government.
Producer Lee Ho-kyung expressed his thoughts, saying, “I wanted to record the harsh fate of Korean residents in Japan repatriated to North Korea who were alienated and discriminated against in any society, including as Joseonjing in Japan, as prisoners of war in North Korea, and as North Korean defectors after escaping.”
