<With Teacher Issue PICK> A house with a future dream – zero energy building

Saving energy and improving efficiency in buildings have now become a necessity rather than an option.

In line with this, in Korea, the zero-energy building certification system for new buildings was expanded to become mandatory for the private sector starting January 1 of this year.

The concept of building energy efficiency emerged in the 1970s.

Afterwards, insulation in buildings was emphasized and the focus was on reducing building energy consumption.

Passive House has become the standard for zero-energy building design.

A 'zero energy building' is one that combines passive house, active technology, and new and renewable energy technologies such as solar energy, solar heat, and geothermal heat to produce the necessary energy in the building itself, aiming for zero total energy consumption.

Just as home appliances have energy efficiency rating stickers, a building can be certified as a zero-energy building depending on its energy independence rate.
