Sharp satire hidden behind laughter

Sweden's director Ruben Oedstlund also sharpens the structural contradictions of modern capitalist society by using unique cynicism and satire as a weapon.

The captain (Woody Harrelsson) and the Russian rich capitalism-communist debates, followed by food poisoning party and the hypocrisy of capitalism in storms, and drove the audience in shock and laughter.

All hierarchies are reversed as the toilet cleaner Abigail, who was an 'invisible being' in the existing society, stands at the pinnacle of power as a weapon of survival.

Appearance, gender, class and survival, regime and humanity make the audience uncomfortable but finally cheerful.
