Ha Chun-hwa survives Iri Station explosion with help from Joo-il Lee

Singer Ha Chun-hwa revealed that her life was saved with the help of the late Lee Joo-il during the Iri Station explosion that occurred on November 11, 1977.

Ha Chun-hwa explained, "I had to climb over the wall while wearing a dress, but when I looked down, it wasn't high enough for me to jump. Lee Joo-il, who saw that, went down first and told me to step on his head and come down."

Ha Chun-hwa said she had to wear a cast on her upper body due to a shoulder injury, but her life was saved thanks to Joo-il Lee.

The Iri Station explosion was a large-scale explosion that occurred at Iri Station in Iksan-si, Jeollabuk-do around 9:50 a.m. on November 11, 1977.
