Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, was sentenced to one year in prison and two years of probation in the first trial for violating election laws.

People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon, who had been at odds with the President's Office, went on the offensive against Representative Lee again.

After President Yoon Seok-yeol took office, prosecutors intensively investigated Representative Lee Jae-myung, his presidential rival.

During the presidential election, President Yoon was also accused of making statements such as 'I have no close relationship with Kim Man-bae' and 'The report on Ms. Kim Kun-hee's false history is clearly a misinformation', but the prosecution either acquitted or dismissed the charges for violating the election law.
