Alaska, which means 'huge land' in the Aleut language, an indigenous language, spreads out a vast land 17 times the size of Korea, as its name suggests, and has a colorful natural environment with majestic ice fields, mountain ranges, green lakes, and forests.

The group heads to Seward, one of Alaska's oldest port cities, via the Seward Highway, which connects Anchorage with the southern tip of the Kenai Peninsula.

Seward, reached through the tunnel, is a port city created in 1903, and is named after William Henry Seward, the U.S. Secretary of State who purchased Alaska from Russia.

The Chugach National Forest traverses the center of south-central Alaska and encompasses dense forests, huge glaciers, and jewel-like rivers and lakes.

Return to Whittier and board a cruise ship to see the Blackstone Glacier, the highlight of your trip to Alaska.
