Netizens' reactions are mixed

In the first week of its release, the Netflix original series 'Squid Game 2' ranked first in the TV-OTT drama topicality survey announced by Good Data Corporation, but failed to surpass the record of season 1.

Data PD Won Soon-woo of Good Data Corporation analyzed, "There were comments saying that Gong Yoo and Lee Byung-hun's acting was particularly impressive, but most netizens' comments showed that they were disappointed compared to Season 1."

Producer Won pointed out, "Due to the director's excessive greed, many of the main cast members were reduced to mere gimmicks necessary for the development of the story, and the prevailing evaluation was that the future story was predicted by them, resulting in low immersion."

He added, "Netizens' evaluations were that the 'game' that people were passionate about in Season 1 was not fun, and that the structure of forcing it to Season 3 with an improbable story was boring."
